About The Salted Kiln

Founder / Owner / Teacher
Sally Mills
The Salted Kiln, established by ceramicist Sally Mills, is more than a pottery studio—more like a haven where relaxation and creativity meet. Having moved from the home counties to the stunning North Norfolk coast, Sally was inspired by the tranquil surroundings and crisp sea air. She wanted to build a place where visitors could come to enjoy the process of creating pottery, whether experienced or not.
With more than 30 years’ experience in pottery, Sally is just as inspired by working with clay now as she was when she started. Her own work, which mostly involves fusing together ceramics and glass, is a testament to both her artistic development and to the beautiful natural landscape surrounding the coastline which she has taken as home.
Our Pottery Workshop
The Salted Kiln is a welcoming and informal environment. Sally has created a space where anyone can explore the joy of working with clay, whether it’s your first time or you’re looking to refine your skills.
Her classes are all about enjoying the process, unlocking your creativity, and experiencing the meditative qualities of pottery.
It’s not just about making something with your hands—it’s about having fun, connecting with the materials, and seeing where the process takes you.
Sally's Personal Work
Sally’s own pottery is also available for purchase, both online here and in the studio. Each piece is made with care, and every design is inspired by her love of the coast. Whether you’re searching for a thoughtful gift or a unique piece for your home, Sally’s ceramics bring a touch of coastal serenity to any space.
If you’re looking for a place to explore pottery and creativity, come visit The Salted Kiln. It’s not just about learning a craft—it’s about enjoying every moment of the journey.
